lose fat, thigh fat,

Excess fat in specific body parts causes mental anguish. You know this all too well if you have stubborn inner thigh fat. The good news is that thigh fat is subcutaneous and responds well to exercise and dietary adjustments. The bad news is that you have to make sacrifices and be disciplined with your lifestyle choices to get rid of the stubborn fat. The best approach is to promote full body weight loss and do specific exercises for your inner thighs.

Tips to Prevent Inner Thigh Fat

1. Reducing Caloric Intake

Try restricting your intake of calories to create a deficit. Meaning, you are burning more calories than you are consuming. If you create a caloric deficit, your body will burn stored fat for energy, and your inner thighs will start to shrink. If you are aiming for fast results, depending on your height and weight, you can aim for a 1,000-calorie reduction.

If you are looking for other ways to burn stored fat, look into certain diets, like the Keto Diet, which focuses on putting the body into a process called ketosis, which cues the body to burn fat instead of carbohydrates.

2. Meal Frequency

Try changing up your meal frequency.

Either increase your meal frequency or start intermittent fasting. Choosing which one works best for you depends on your lifestyle, goals, and body type.

Increasing the frequency of when you eat meals throughout the day can keep you feeling satisfied. If you wait long periods between meals, you run the risk of becoming ravenous and overeating. Have a small meal upon waking and repeat this process every two to three hours for the rest of the day. Eat meals that are just big enough to take the edge off your hunger. A bowl of bean soup is a meal, for example.

In contrast, intermittent fasting is only eating during a certain period of the day and then refraining from consuming any calories for the rest of the day. It has been known to have incredible benefits, ranging from weight loss to cancer prevention and increased heart health.

3. Reduce “Drinkable” Calories

Change out your caloric drinks for calorie-free beverages. Sodas, slushies, milk shakes, beer, wine and flavored lattes all contain high amounts of calories and processed sugar. These should be eliminated from your diet if you are trying to lose weight. You can replace these beverages with water and other low-calorie beverages to promote weight loss.

On top of this, there are certain foods and beverages that reduce your appetite and help you manage your digestion.  Drinks like green tea and kombucha are known to help reduce your appetite and slow digestion, and foods such as whole grains, avocados, and Greek yogurt also help slow digestion. Try substituting some of your sugary drinks for water and tea to reduce your appetite and see how much of a difference it makes in your weight loss journey.

Additional Tips

  • Exercise: If you are not exercising, start slow and work at your own pace. Studies have shown that even 30 minutes of walking every day can have a drastic effect on your body.
  • Stay Hydrated: Make sure that you stay hydrated by drinking water throughout a workout and throughout the day. Hydration reduces muscle cramping, regulates body temperature, and maintains energy levels and endurance. The majority of the population is dehydrated, so check how much water you should be drinking and adjust your consumption if necessary.
  • Stay Motivated: Don’t get discouraged! It will take several weeks before you notice a difference.
