Need a Libido Boost?

Just what exactly is libido? It is just another name for sexual desire or the sex drive. A variety of internal and external factors can have an effect on your libido, from your hormone levels to your medications to your sleep habits. Everyone’s level is different, but most people see their libido decline as they age.

Libido, or sex drive, naturally varies between individuals. Having a low sex drive is not necessarily a problem, but if a person wishes to boost their sex drive, they can try a range of effective natural methods.

Anxiety, relationship difficulties, health concerns, and age can all affect libido. While a low libido is not usually problematic, it can affect a person’s relationships and self-esteem.

Following a nutritious diet can benefit people’s sex drive by promoting good circulation and heart health, and by removing specific foods that can decrease libido. Metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease can affect physical sexual functioning. Also, polycystic ovarian syndrome can affect hormone levels, which may also disrupt libido. If your libido is low, try adding these foods to your diet to give it a boost:

>> Avocados Vitamins E and B6 in avocados help increase hormone levels of testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone.
>> Strawberries Not only are they juicy, red, and shaped like a heart, but they have been touted as a natural aphrodisiac for centuries. Once you bite into them, a green light is sent to your salivary glands and you can’t seem to get enough.
>> Chocolate It melts at body temperature and gives you a quick burst of energy from its sugar. It also sends signals to your brain to release endorphins, your natural stress relieving chemicals.
>> Oysters High levels of zinc in these shelled beauties aid testosterone production, and a 2005 study found that oysters were rich in a specific amino acid that triggers the release of sex hormones.
You should also just R-E-L-A-X. Getting intimate and getting to the Big O requires you to be fully present. Running through your daily to-dos or getting distracted by the laundry will only kill intimacy.
