How to make the best Southwest Cheeseburgers
Ingredients
- 2 pounds Ground Beef (75% to 80% lean)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
- i 4 ounce can of green chilies
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper
- 8 hamburger buns, split, toasted
- 1/2 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
- 1 cup chopped tomato
- 2 Avocados sliced
Directions:
- Combine Ground Beef, green onions, green chilies and cumin in medium bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Lightly shape into eight 1/2-inch thick patties.
- Place patties on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 8 to 10 minutes (over medium heat on preheated gas grill, covered, 7 to 9 minutes), until instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into center registers 160°F, turning occasionally. Season with salt and pepper, as desired.
- Cooking Tip: To broil, place patties on rack in broiler pan so surface of beef is 3 to 4 inches from heat. Broil 10 to 12 minutes, turning once, until instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into center registers 160°F.

- Place burger on bottom of each bun; top with cheese, avocado and tomato.
- Close sandwiches.
How to make your own Southwest Sauce
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons ranch seasoning
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- ½ teaspoon chipotle chile powder
Directions:
- Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch seasoning, lime juice and chipotle chile powder and whisk together until smooth.
- Chill in fridge while making burgers for flavors to meld.
